Kam Close

Traditional lands of the Awabakal people

Originally designed as the MossBoss headquarters, this commercial project fused workspace, showroom, and garden into a living sanctuary. The design softened the raw industrial shell with planting and natural materials, creating a space that was both functional and restorative.

Inside, a soaring vertical green wall and cascading plants transformed the warehouse into a biophilic studio. Exposed steel, aged timber, and curated greenery layered together in an industrial, rustic aesthetic — a place where creativity could thrive and nature was never out of view.

Beyond the walls, the courtyard carried the same philosophy outdoors. Sandstone, recycled sleepers, and hardy natives framed the space with texture and permanence, anchored by a sculptural Queensland bottle tree.

Though later sold, the project remains a defining example of MossBoss principles: resilient, atmospheric, and proof that even commercial spaces can be transformed into thriving ecosystems.
